What’s New: Online Pre‑Bankruptcy Counseling
DebtHelper.com now offers the pre-filing bankruptcy credit counseling course (Course 1) entirely online, making the process more convenient and timely. As required under the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act, this course must be completed before filing for bankruptcy. It includes personalized budget analysis, financial education, and a one-on-one session with a certified credit counselor Debthelper.
Following the filing, clients must complete a second required course—Course 2 (Debtor Education)—also available online. This post-filing financial management instructional course takes about two hours and provides tools to manage money after bankruptcy
