100 Things to Do During a Money Free Weekend

For the past few months, my wife and I have tried something new. Every other weekend, we plan what we call a “money-free” weekend. The goal is simple. We spend no money at all. Surprisingly, it turns out to be a lot of fun.

During these weekends, we don’t buy anything. We don’t shop for food, go out for entertainment, or spend money in any form. Since we usually grocery shop on Saturdays, we move that task to Monday or Tuesday instead.

We still use basic utilities, but we avoid extra costs. We don’t rent movies on cable. We don’t send paid text messages. We only use what is already included in our plans.

Earlier, I shared several lists of things to do during a money-free weekend. I wrote about fifteen ideas, then added fifteen more, and later shared fifteen deeply fulfilling activities. After that, readers began sending their own ideas. Over time, we also discovered many new ones ourselves.

Many people asked for one complete list. They wanted everything in one place. This post is the result.

Below is a collection of one hundred fun ways to enjoy a money-free weekend. It includes the first forty-five ideas, with duplicates removed, along with about sixty new ones. You can print this list or use it as a simple guide.

Keep in mind that everyone enjoys different things. You won’t love every idea on this list, and that’s fine. What feels fun to one person may feel boring to another. The goal is not perfection. The goal is to enjoy your time without spending money.
