About Angel Food Ministries
Angel Food Ministries is a non-profit and non-denominational program. It helps families buy groceries at a lower cost. The mission is simple. It provides food relief and financial support across the United States.
The program started in 1994 in Monroe, Georgia. At that time, only 34 families participated. However, it has grown quickly. Today, it serves hundreds of thousands of families every month in 35 states.
In addition, the ministry shares faith-based messages. Each food box includes a small gospel tract.
Blessings by the Box
Each food unit costs $30 and fits into a medium-sized box. Moreover, the menu changes every month. The box includes both fresh and frozen items.
On average, the retail value is about $60. Therefore, families receive food at nearly half the store price. In fact, price comparisons show the same items can cost between $42 and $78 in regular grocery stores.

Who the Food Helps
One unit can feed a family of four for about one week. Alternatively, it can support a senior citizen for almost a month.
